Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about our services? I'm here to help you feel confident about taking the next step toward better mental health.

Is this affordable? What are the costs?

The initial psychiatric intake is $250 per session and follow-up visits are $125 per session. We also offer a free 15-minute screening so you can learn about our approach before committing. Insurance will be accepted starting September 2026.

How much time does treatment take?

Treatment duration varies by individual, but most patients begin to notice improvement within the first few visits. All appointments are conducted via telehealth for your convenience — no commute, no waiting rooms. Follow-up visits are typically bi-weekly, and we adjust frequency based on your progress.

I've tried other treatments before. What makes your approach different?

Unlike traditional psychiatric care that focuses solely on medications, I use an integrated approach that treats the whole person — not just symptoms. As both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health NP, I understand how physical conditions like diabetes and hypertension interact with mental health. I incorporate functional medicine principles and focus on root-cause analysis — more pills are not always better.

Will this work for me?

With over 20 years of nursing experience, dual board certifications, a doctorate in nursing practice, and functional medicine certification, I bring a depth of clinical expertise that most providers can't match. My integrated approach has helped patients across a wide spectrum — from young adults with panic attacks to patients with complex comorbidities. Start with a free 15-minute screening and let's discuss your specific situation.

Am I ready for psychiatric care?

If you're asking this question, you're already taking an important step. There's no wrong time to seek help. Our free 15-minute screening is designed specifically for people who aren't sure if they're ready — it's a no-pressure conversation about your concerns and how we might help. You are the CEO of your body, and seeking care is a sign of strength.

What conditions do you treat?

I specialize in high blood pressure and metabolic health concerns, blood sugar dysregulation and insulin resistance, anxiety and mood disorders, depression, chronic stress, and inflammation-related conditions. I also provide functional medicine integration including root-cause analysis, lifestyle and nutrition strategy, and personalized prevention planning — all through an integrated approach that treats the whole person.

Is telehealth as effective as in-person visits?

Absolutely. Telehealth psychiatric care has been shown to be equally effective as in-person visits for the conditions I treat. It offers the added benefit of convenience — you can attend appointments from the comfort of your home or office. Based in Aurora, all visits are conducted via secured telehealth — convenient, confidential, and comprehensive.

Do you accept insurance?

Currently all services are cash pay ($250 initial intake, $125 follow-up). This model allows for extended, unrushed appointments, personalized care planning, direct provider access, and integrated treatment without insurance restrictions. We will begin accepting insurance starting September 2026. I can provide superbills that you may submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
